Meuri is a third generation oral contraceptive pill, which contains low doses of two hormones. It is taken for a 21 days cycle every month, at the same time each day.  It works by preventing the release of the egg and its fertilization by the sperm.  It is a short-term contraceptive method, which does not only prevent unplanned pregnancy but also has various non- contraceptive benefits like regularising periods, reduces pre-existing acne and hirsutism etc. It has temporary side-effects , like nausea, dizziness and headaches which go away within 2 to 3 months of correct use.
